Barcelona leads the way on cruise numbers in Spain, but still down on pre-pandemic figures

Barcelona Port Authority anticipates a full-year 2022 total of 2.2m passengers
Barcelona received 1,665,896 cruise passengers during the first nine months of 2022 – 68.5% of the same period in 2019 – on 582 ship calls.

Barcelona Port Authority anticipates a full-year 2022 total of 2.2m passengers, 70% of the 2019 figure, and 820 vessel calls.

The subsequent busiest cruise ports in Spain, in order, were the Balearic Islands, Las Palmas, Valencia and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

In total, Spanish ports handled 5,353,585 cruise passengers over 3,053 calls between January and September this year.
