The port authority's strategy allows for the construction of two additional terminals
The Barcelona Port Authority reached an agreement with the owners of a small container terminal to move their operations from Adossat pier to another area of the port, clearing the entire pier for further expansion beyond the five existing cruise terminals.

The port authority's strategic plan provides for the construction of two additional terminals. MSC Cruises has already pledged to build the first.

The relocations will enable the port to open additional shoreside access for recreational activities by local residents, as well as for tourists.
