The line-up includes eight ‘Authentic Encounters,’ which provide experiences with local people and attractions, and group sizes limited to 20 passengers or fewer.

The seven-night itinerary, operated by Celestyal Journey sailing from Greece, launches on March 2.

Celestyal CCO Lee Haslett said ‘...we believe the destinations we sail to are what makes a cruise so special. We want our guests to be immersed in the culture, history and local experiences…’

Recycled scrap art

Examples include the half-day ‘Igor’s Magical Recycled Scrap Art’ in Dubrovnik, Croatia consisting of a guided sightseeing tour of the Old Town followed by a visit to the workshop and art gallery of Igor Hajdarhodzic – a locally born actor turned artist. Prices start at £111 per person.

Biking

Starting at £77 per person, the half-day ‘Hike and Bike’ in Kotor, Montenegro takes passengers on a 15km bike ride from the town towards the village of Donji Stoliv, followed by a 45-minute hike through shaded woods to Gornji Stoliv – an abandoned village above the Bay of Kotor.

Gastronomy

The half-day ‘Monopoli & Rural Life Experience’ in Bari, Italy starts at £102 per person. It involves a tour of the town – founded on the remains of an ancient Messapian settlement – and a visit to a traditional Apulian farm for mozzarella and focaccia tasting.

Winter savings

The Heavenly Adriatic itinerary is available to book from £489pp with savings of up to £811 and 50% off all Celestyal Plus+ Experience packages, as part of the line’s winter promotion.
