Civitavecchia’s Roma Cruise Terminal bags a trio of maiden calls

Roma Cruise Terminal welcomed a trio of cruise ships on maiden calls in Civitavecchia this past seven days.

First up was Royal Caribbean International's Wonder of the Seas which visited last Thursday. Civitavecchia will be both a transit stop and turnaround port for the ship during the 2022 season.

Scenic Eclipse

On Sunday, May 15, Scenic Eclipse undertook a first turnaround in the Italian hub, shared Roma Cruise Terminal general manager John Portelli. Local agent CEMAR handled the ship visit and the exchange of plaques.

Celebrity Beyond

On Monday, Celebrity Beyond made the first of 11 turnarounds as  Civitavecchia will be the vessel’s homeport for its 2022 Mediterranean season.

Royal Caribbean's port agent, AESSEC, organized the traditional coats of arms exchange ceremony which saw the participation of representatives of the municipality, the port authority and the coast guard, as well as the port community.

Since the beginning of the year, Roma Cruise Terminal whose shareholders are Costa Cruises, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean International has hosted 107 ships and over 100,000 passengers in Civitavecchia.
