The €5.5m terminal will be built in 'modules' manufactured off-site and later transported, assembled and finished on-site at Balears Wharf. Planned by Global Ports Holding, the facility will span an area of 2,200m2 and follow an ergonomic and avant-garde design.

Key features

The terminal will be been designed with a focus on functionality and eco-efficiency, as well as passenger comfort. Environmentally friendly technologies and practices will be integrated, from the use of renewable energy to the efficient management of natural resources.

Safety and accessibility have also been considered: advanced security measures have been implemented and accessible spaces have been created to ensure all passengers, including people with reduced mobility, have a comfortable and safe experience.

The terminal will be able to adapt to future industry needs by providing flexibility and expansion capacity according to market demand.

Balears Wharf

Balears Wharf is the outcome of a €30m investment by Tarragona Port Authority to improve port infrastructure, expanding the area available for cruise operations through 40,000m2 of esplanade at the new dock.

The Port Authority has also invested in fitting out the quay for shore power, which will reduce CO2 emissions from docked cruise ships.
