The ship, connected at the Ostuferhafen facility on June 7, is now scheduled to receive shore power at Kiel during all 16 calls there this season.

‘The debut of shore power on our fleet is a further step on our decarbonisation journey,’ stated Mario Zanetti, president of Costa Cruises. ‘This important result for Costa was achieved thanks to the cooperation with the Port of Kiel. We are fully committed to continuously improve the environmental performance of our ships both while sailing and while berthed in ports.’

Ostuferhafen cruise terminal serves as the turnaround port for Costa Diadema, which has been calling at Kiel every Friday since May 10 as part of a one-week Norwegian fjords itinerary. Its last visit will be on September 19.
