Costa returns to La Goulette after eight-year hiatus

Tuesday’s arrival of Costa Favolosa in La Goulette marked the first time a Costa Cruises vessel had called at the port in eight years.

CEO of La Goulette Cruise Port, Sami Debbiche, said, ‘The return of Costa Cruises is a delightful harbinger of the thriving future of the cruise industry in Tunisia. 

‘During the 2023 season, we've welcomed over 130,000 cruise passengers, and we're optimistic that this number will double in the seasons to come…’ 

In May 2022, the destination welcomed its first cruise ship in seven years with Saga’s Spirit of Discovery. 

Easy access to Tunis

La Medina's labyrinthine streets, the storied ruins of Carthage, picturesque Sidi Bou Said and Bardo Museum were among the areas visited by Costa Favolosa’s passengers during the September 26 call. 

La Goulette 

La Goulette Cruise Port, operating through a joint venture between Global Ports Holding and MSC Cruises, has been in operation since May 2019. It has two terminal buildings, has berths totaling 657mtr and is equipped to receive mega-ships, including Oasis-, Excellence-, and Meraviglia-plus class vessels.
