Indochine 1 is one of the five vessels returning to the Mekong
CroisiEurope will resume sailings on the Mekong River from August 7 with five vessels, following a two-year hiatus.

It claims to be the first river cruise ship operator to return to the region amid the pandemic. AmaWaterways will return to the Mekong in October following the easing of restrictions.

CroisiEurope previously revealed its resumption of safari cruises in Southern Africa.

Itinerary

The nine-day cruises between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap will call Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Tralach, Koh Chen, Phnom Penh and Chau Doc in Cambodia and Sa Dec, viet,  Vinh Long, Cai Be and My Tho in Vietnam.

In Vietnam, two optional land add-ons will also be available: a three-night trip combining two nights in Hanoi and a one-night Halong Bay junk cruise; and a six-night tour taking in Hue and its Imperial City, the partially-ruined temples in My Son and Hanoi and a one-night Halong Bay junk cruise.

In Cambodia, the temples of Angkor, the floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake, Phnom Penh with its colonial characteristics, as well as the Cho Gao Canal are among the highlights.

Vessels

The five vessels consist of Indochine 1 – inspired by traditional boats on the Mekong – which has 24 cabins on three decks and accommodates 48 passengers, Toum Tiou 1 with 14 cabins over two decks, accommodating 28 passengers and Toum Tiou 2 with 10 cabins over two decks, accommodating 20 passengers. All three are colonial-style vessels.

Lan Diep is also inspired by traditional boats on the Mekong and has 22 cabins over two decks, accommodating 44 passengers.

The contemporary Indochine 2 has 31 cabins over three decks for 62 passengers, plus a swimming pool.

Each vessel houses a panoramic restaurant serving Asian and international dishes, an air-conditioned lounge, sun deck, spacious cabins and a massage area.
