Cruises from Singapore restart with World Dream

The short cruises to nowhere are available exclusively to the Singaporean market.

Dream Cruises' World Dream embarked 1,400 passengers — 50% capacity — for the first voyage.

World Dream’s two- and three-night cruises are promoted as a 'Super Seacation’ — the seagoing version of a staycation packed with exciting recreational activities and entertainment along with ample fitness and wellness programming,

All activities will be organized in accordance with permitted group sizes, specific to each activity, in line with the prevailing national policy, and measures will be in place to discourage close contact between groups.

'It is a great honour for us to continue our long and fruitful partnership with Singapore which began in 1993, almost 30 years ago,' Dream Cruises President Michael Goh said. Jobs for Singaporeans

The resumption of cruise operations also sees parent company Genting Cruise Lines reinforcing its commitment to offering new employment prospects and educational partnerships that will provide more jobs for Singaporeans during this pandemic period.

The company is looking to fill more than 100 jobs, from marine officers to cruise operations and chefs, media technicians, hotel and hospitality staff and special cruise ambassadors to bolster guest relations. Two recently recruited Singaporeans, Loh Tze Xiang (Zachary), second officer junior, and Mohd Ansar, third officer, are on board World Dream.

Antigen test embark, ship equipped with PCR machine, social distancing monitoring

As part of enhanced health, hygiene and operating protocols to ensure the safest environment is a well-equipped medical facility including a COVID-19 PCR testing machine.

Additionally, all travelers will need to pass a rapid antigen test before embarking and those age 7 and above will be required to carry their MICE Pod token, as mandated by the Ministry of Health, to monitor social distancing on board.

World Dream obtained CruiseSafe Certification by the Singapore Tourism Board and DNV GL and Certification in Infection Prevention - Maritime from DNV GL.

Royal Caribbean to resume in December
