Emerald Destiny Star-Ship will depart from Nuremberg for the eight-day itinerary calling Passau, Melk, Dürnstein, Vienna and Bratislava, disembarking passengers at Budapest at its conclusion.
Inclusive EmeraldACTIVE excursions will be available, such as guided hikes to the fortress of Veste Oberhaus, medieval Dürnstein Castle, the baroque gardens of Bratislava or Buda Hill for views overlooking the Danube.
Guided bike tours from Melk to Dürnstein and Danube Island will also be open to passengers who will be able to visit the home of a local Slovakian family in Bratislava for refreshments and hear stories about life in the city and its history.

Douro itinerary
Douro sailings will continue with an eight-day ‘Secrets of the Douro’ cruise on board Emerald Radiance Star-Ship commencing August 28. The vessel will sail Portugal’s ‘River of Gold’ venturing to Porto, before setting sail through Portuguese villages. EmeraldACTIVE excursions offer guided hikes through the vineyards of Quinta do Tedo followed by wine tasting and canoe trips through Pinhão and Pocinho.
Evening activities on board comprise a Portuguese cooking demonstration, a port wine cocktail lesson and a mosaic tile-painting tutorial.
Prices start from £2,345 per person; a no single supplement for 2021 Douro river cruises is offered for solo travellers.
