The Cayman Islands will host the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association's 2023 Platinum Associate Member Advisory Council Conference.

This is part of the destination's strategic agreement with FCCA, announced in the spring, to foster tourism recovery and economic impact.

'We are honored and excited that the Cayman Islands will host this crucial event for our cruise executives and Platinum Members, and continue the destination’s efforts to build back their cruise tourism better,' FCCA CEO Michele Paige said. 'Hosting the event will further advance the Cayman Islands’ initiatives by showcasing the destination to the prestigious audience, along with giving opportunities for strategic meetings.'

June 20-23

The June 20-23 event will gather FCCA Platinum Members and key cruise executives for a series of meetings, including one-on-ones.

A joint session for all members and executives will focus on any topics raised by members, with a spotlight on product development, itinerary development and FCCA’s employment and purchasing programs centered on increasing local hires and products used onboard.

Chance to showcase attractions, meet government leaders

The Cayman Islands will showcase attractions, facilities, food, products, air and hotel offerings. Additionally, the Cayman Islands will coordinate meetings with government leaders, tour operators, suppliers and entities that foster hiring to help fulfill the destination’s goals established in its FCCA strategic partnership, including assisting the private sector, employment, fostering cruise lines’ purchase of local goods and other initiatives that will help Caymanians prosper from cruise tourism.

First PAMAC Conference in Cayman

'The PAMAC conference has never been held in the Cayman Islands before and will allow us to demonstrate that our Islands are open for business,' said Minister for Tourism and Transport Kenneth Bryan. 'As well as providing the chance to network with decision-makers and showcase the unique aspects of our cruise tourism product, the conference will also serve as a vehicle for growing and solidifying new business.'

During 2017-2018, cruise tourism generated $224.54m in expenditures and $92.24m in total employee wage income, according to the Business Research & Economic Advisors report 'Economic Contribution of Cruise Tourism to the Destination Economies.'
