According to cruise lines, the Los Angeles World Cruise Center and Los Angeles International Airport remain fully operational and unaffected, and the same goes for Long Beach Cruise Terminal.
But the scene in parts of Los Angeles is tragic. At least five people have died and tens of thousands of buildings, even some complete neighborhoods, have burned. The fires are far from under control.
Love for LA from The Love Boat line
Hometown line Princess Cruises expressed its deep sadness over the devastation.
'Our hearts go out to all those affected during this challenging time,' said a statement from Princess, whose headquarters are in Santa Clarita. The Hurst fire is south of Santa Clarita, and not nearly as large as the Palisades and Eaton fires further south.
A spokesperson said the Princess office is not impacted and employees can go in if they are able.
The Princess statement added: '... We are keenly aware of the hardships faced by many in our community.'
For passengers 'residing in evacuation areas or whose homes have sustained significant damage,' the line is offering the flexibility to cancel their cruises scheduled to depart between Jan. 11 and Jan. 30 for a future cruise credit and full refunds of any additional purchases such as shore excursions or packages.
The cruise credit is valid for any Princess sailing departing from the Los Angeles World Cruise Center in 2025.
Seatrade Cruise News reached out to Royal Caribbean International after hours Thursday about any policy for impacted travelers.
Year-round ship Navigator of the Seas is scheduled to turn around in Los Angeles on Friday, and Discovery Princess on Saturday.
Viking has several turnarounds this month, and its office is in Woodland Hills, north of the Palisades fire. Operations are not disrupted, a spokesman said.
Long Beach Cruise Terminal
The Long Beach Cruise Terminal, leased and operated by Carnival Corp., is a bit further from the blazes.
'Our thoughts are with the victims, the wider community and the first responders who are selflessly providing service,' Carnival Cruise Line said in a statement.
It continued: 'We do not anticipate any impact to Carnival’s homeport schedule in Long Beach but will, of course, follow the direction of local law enforcement.'
Carnival Radiance, Carnival Firenze and Carnival Panorama all sail from Long Beach.
Late Thursday a Carnival spokesman did not immediately have information about any potential flexibility for cruisers who may be directly impacted by the fires.
This story will be updated when further information is available.
