Fred. Olsen reveals summer 2024 departures from Dover

The Port of Dover previously announced Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines would be returning this year.

Passengers can gain free drinks, or free on board spend, on selected cruises departing in 2024 and 2025, and booked by January 31.

Baltic 

The 14-night ‘Maritime Cities and Sailing Events of the Baltic’ itinerary will be Borealis’ first out of Dover this year. Commencing June 27, highlights include the Tall Ships Races in Helsinki, Finland, Kiel Regatta in Kiel, Germany, World War II history in Gdansk, Poland, with further stops in Visby, Sweden, and Tallinn, Estonia. Prices start from £2,099 per person. 

Iceland

In Iceland, passengers can join a tour to Vigur Islands from Ísafjörður to spot puffins and see the Strokkur geyser and Goðafoss waterfall. The programme also involves Lerwick, cruising by Duncansby Stack and Pentland Firth, Scotland; plus, Akureyri, Reykjavik, Heimaey, Vestmannaeyjar, and cruising by Hrisey, Iceland. This 11-night ‘Whales and Volcanic Landscapes of Iceland’ itinerary commences July 11 and prices start from £1,599 per person. 

British Isles

Borealis sails closer to home for the ‘Scenic Landscapes and Wildlife of the British Isles’ itinerary that follows. Starting July 22 and taking place over nine nights, it encompasses the Scottish isles of Orkney and Skye, the fortified Scilly Isle of St Mary’s, as well as spotting marine life with charity ORCA. In Scotland, the vessel will call at Kirkwall and Portree Isle of Skye, as well as cruise by Iona, Fingal’s Cave, Dutchman’s Cap (Bac Mor,) the Small Isles and Pentland Firth. In the UK, Borealis will also call at St Peter Port, cruise Pleinmont to Jerbourg, and cruise by Brecqhou, Sark and Alderney. Prices start from £1,399 per person.

Azores and Madeira

Passengers can discover Portugal’s maritime history in Lisbon, see blue hydrangeas in full bloom in the Azores, and spot sperm whales and other marine life with ORCA representatives during the ‘Volcanic Islands of the Azores and Madeira’ voyage. It gets underway on July 31, priced starting from £1,999 per person. Appearing on the 14-night programme are: Praia da Vitória, Ponta Delgada, Lisbon, and Leixões in Portugal, with an overnight stay in Funchal on Portugal’s island of Madeira. The ship will additionally cruise the mouth of the Tagus river, Belem Tower and Discovery Monument, and cruise by the Cristo Rei statue and the Abril 25 Bridge in Portugal.  

Norway 

Kicking off August 14 is the eight-night ‘Summertime Norwegian Fjords’ cruise priced starting at £1,249 per person. Opportunities include visiting the mountain plateau of Hardangervidda from Eidfjord, joining a boat tour along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord in Flåm and taking a funicular railway to the top of Mount Fløyen for a hike. The ship will call at Bergen and Olden, and cruise Maurangerfjord and Furebergfossen, Hardangerfjord, Nordfjord and Innvikfjord.
