Global Ports Holding and its local partner Sepcan have been granted a 15-year concession at Alicante Cruise Port, with GPH signing the agreement today.

The Port Authority of Alicante awarded preferred bidder status to an 80:20 joint venture between Global Ports and Sepcan last year following a public tender process.

GPH expects to take over the cruise operations in Alicante this month.

Infrastructure development

The Port Authority of Alicante is currently enhancing the port area in a multimillion-euro investment. Plus, as part of the concession agreement, there are plans by Global Ports to invest up to €2m in refurbishing and modernising the cruise terminal.

Alicante receives more than 100,000 passengers annually.
