The Grenada delegation learned about the new calls during the 26th Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association Conference & Trade Show last week in Puerto Rico.
The delegation was led by Minister of Tourism and Aviation Clarice Modeste-Curwen with support from the Grenada Tourism Authority’s CEO Patricia Maher and Manager Nautical Development Nikoyan Roberts.
Pure Grenada
‘We are indeed thrilled with the feedback received from our industry partners regarding Pure Grenada as a cruise destination product,’ Maher said. ‘We’ve learned that the destination is standing head and shoulders with some of the region’s leading ports of call and this continues to motivate our efforts with regards to enhancing cruise passenger experiences on island, in turn bringing more cruise passengers to our shores.’
Meetings were held with officials from Carnival Corp. & plc, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, MSC Cruises USA, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Silversea Cruises, TUI Cruises, Holland America Group and Virgin Voyages.
‘Grenada is growing its cruise numbers and the government of Grenada is keen to see this additional business bring more benefits to the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique,’ Modeste-Curwen said.
Roberts added that attending the FCCA Conferencre ‘sets the tone for the season, as our partners are able to provide realistic expectations for the immediate and not-too-distant future, allowing us to plan and adjust our efforts as needed.’
