In relation to COVID-19, Denmark is once again safe to visit. Since February 2022 it has been possible for vaccinated cruise guests to experience Copenhagen and the rest of the Scandinavian pearl without having to worry about test requirements

During the Covid-19 outbreak, Denmark has been praised for its swift, well-ordered shutdown and the protective protocols put in place to ensure the safety of everyone. Now society has reopened, and guests can once again visit our beautiful castles, tasting restaurants, and stunning nature.

What to expect when visiting Denmark in 2022?
In July Denmark will host one of the biggest sporting events ever staged in the Scandinavian country when Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is the official starting point of the Danish Grand Départ.
In total three Tour stages will take place in Denmark. The three stages will take place on the following dates: July 1st 2022 Tour de France kicks off with the opening stage, the Grand Départ, in Copenhagen. July 2nd the second stage starts in Roskilde and finishes in Nyborg on the island of Fyn. July 3rd the third stage starts in Vejle and finishes in Sønderborg. Read more about the events here.
January 14th, 2022 marked the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen’s ascension to the throne. This will be celebrated year out by different exhibitions and events.
Furthermore, cruise guests visiting Denmark in 2022 will get a once-in-a-life-time royal experience with two important royal celebrations: the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen’s ascension to the throne and The Crown Princess’s 50th birthday.
On that occasion unique exhibitions including The Queen’s personal jewellery and the story of The
Crown Princess are opening at Amalienborg Palace and Frederiksborg Castle in Copenhagen. Furthermore, it is possible to explore the magnificent events and stories of past kings and queens at Kronborg Castle and to experience exhibitions focusing on the royal life in general at Christiansborg Palace.
This makes it the perfect royal year full of magnificent and rare celebrations in the entire kingdom, and an ideal cruise destination all-year-round!
