HAL's 2022 Canada/New England stretches into Iceland/Greenland

Holland America Line is deploying Zaandam and Nieuw Statendam in Canada/New England during 2022.

Both ships will offer a series of six- to eight-day cruises, with Zaandam sailing throughout summer and fall. And Nieuw Statendam, as the first Pinnace-class vessel in the region, will join in August and also operate longer explorations up to 24 days.

24-day cruise circles Iceland, calls Greenland

A new 24-day cruise departing Aug. 3 sails round-trip from Boston and circumnavigates Iceland, making six calls around the country, with additional visits to Greenland, Nova Scotia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Newfoundland and Labrador. Ports include Bar Harbor, Maine; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Saint-Pierre and Miquelon; St. John’s, Red Bay, St. Anthony and Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador; Qaqortoq (Julianehåb) and Nanortalik (Ilivileq), Greenland; and Reykjavík (evening stay), Djúpivogur, Seydisfjörur, Akureyri, Isafjörour and Grundarfjörour, Iceland.

Boston-Montréal

During summer and fall Zaandam will cruise between Boston and Montréal with weekend departures. Ports include Bar Harbor, Québec City, Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island), Sydney and Halifax.

Boston-Québec City

Nieuw Statendam will sail between Boston and Québec City, also with weekend departures. Ports include Bar Harbor, Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax. The eight-day cruise adds Saint John, New Brunswick.

In addition, Nieuw Statendam will offer longer cruises between Boston and Québec City. A 10-day itinerary includes Baie-Comeau and Havre-Saint-Pierre in Québec plus Corner Brook, St. Anthony, St. John’s, Halifax and Bar Harbor. An 11-day version has Portland, Maine; Saguenay, Québec; Saint John, Halifax, Corner Brook (evening stay), Charlottetown and Baie-Comeau.

Repositioning voyages

Zaandam's season is bookended by nine-day repositioning cruises along the Atlantic Coast between Montréal and Fort Lauderdale in May and October, while Nieuw Statendam sails from Québec City to Fort Lauderdale on a 14-day voyage in October.

Cruise-only pricing starts at $799 per person, double occupancy. Taxes, fees and port expenses are additional.
