'There is no threat to the safety of our guests, team members or the property itself, and we are working to keep guests as comfortable as possible,' HAL said on X. 'As local authorities work to restore power to the area, we are notifying guests who are currently on cruise-tours of their onward itinerary details.'
The line said it is assessing each cruise-tour on an individual basis for the coming week and travelers will be contacted if there are any itinerary changes.
A photo of the fire taken from the McKinley Chalet Lodge at 4 p.m. Monday showed flame and smoke in the trees beyond.
Park remains closed
The National Park Service on Monday said firefighters have made 'significant progress' but the blaze continues to be active near the park entrance so tour and transit bus service will remain closed Tuesday, and all visitor facilities and trails are closed.
The cause of the fire is unknown, NPS said, and an investigation will be conducted.
Holland America Line also expressed gratitude to the first responders who are fighting the fire and working to restore power in the area.
