Marella Explorer 2 based out of La Romana in the Dominican Republic for winter 2024/25
Marella Cruises is homeporting Marella Explorer 2 out of La Romana in the Dominican Republic from December 24, 2024 for a series of winter sailings.

It marks a return to the Caribbean island for the first time since winter 2017, with winter itineraries on sale from mid this month.

The adult-only sailings feature three itineraries: visiting Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia and St Kitts; Dominica, Antigua, St Maarten, Tortola and Samana – a new port for Marella Cruises in the Dominican Republic, before it heads back to La Romana.  A third option is Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, and two sea days.

Chris Hackney, Managing Director of Cruise for TUI UK & I said: ‘We’re always looking for new ways to improve our customer offering, whether that’s new destinations, new itineraries or ships.’

In the winter Mediterranean programme, Marella will offer two new shorter cruises from December 2024: four-night sailings on Marella Explorer departing from Malaga and visit Gibraltar and Casablanca in Morocco, with one sea day.

Marella Voyager will also offer a four nights departing from Palma in Majorca, visiting Alicante, Almeria and Malaga.
