Marella Cruises reveals itineraries for UK summer cruises

Marella Cruises has revealed Marella Explorer’s UK summer programme ahead of bookings opening April 16.

The ship will sail seven new UK itineraries from June 25, with Marella Explorer 2’s sailings from Newcastle from July 10 set to be announced later this month.

West- and South Coast sailings 

West Coast sailings will see Explorer sail to Greenock, Scotland before venturing to Belfast, Northern Ireland and Holyhead, Wales before concluding in Southampton.

Its South Coast itinerary consists of a three-night voyage from Southampton, visiting Dover for Canterbury Cathedral and Portland for Abbotsbury Swannery & Gardens.

Ireland/Scotland 

Departing in August from Southampton, Explorer will venture to Liverpool, Dublin and Cobh in the Republic of Ireland. 

From Southampton, the vessel will spend one day at sea, calling Invergordon, Kirkwall, Leith for Edinburgh Castle, Newcastle returning to Southampton as part of its Scottish itinerary.  

Vaccination

Anyone aged 18-years and above will be required to have had been fully inoculated at least seven days before travelling. Those under 18 will be asked to have a lateral flow test, with infants under the age of two excluded from sailing on Explorer; Explorer 2 is an adult only ship. 

Passengers must also provide proof of a negative lateral flow test before boarding the ships at the start of the cruise.  

Entertainment and leisure 

Champneys spa, dining experiences, fitness classes and entertainment will continue to take place on board Explorer. 

Marella Cruises will continue the pause in operations for Discovery and Discovery 2 until July 31.
