MedCruise outlines its role in EU BlueMissionMed Project in Italy

Information on the association’s activities, missions and goals was received by EU representatives in Italy
MedCruise President Figen Ayan delivered a presentation on behalf of the association at the European Union’s BlueMissionMed Project kick-start meeting hosted by the National Research Council of Italy in Venice yesterday.

MedCruise is a partner in the project, which aims to improve the Mediterranean Sea, including making it healthier, promoting its citizens’ social well-being and boosting economic growth.

Figen was joined at the event by MedCruise’s new secretary general, Nicky Guerrero.

The partner’s pitch delivered by Ayan described the association’s role in the initiative and outlined its commitment and actions on sustainability, and was seen by EU representatives and other partners of BlueMissionMed.

The EU Commission joined the project to maximise synergies with the EU ‘Restore our Ocean and Waters’ mission. According to MedCruise, the association from now on may engage in direct dialogue with the EU on its 2025 and 2030 European targets on creating a more sustainable planet.

MedCruise currently represents over 150 ports from 22 countries.
