Valeria Mangiarotti, MedCruise’s director of technical environmental solutions and marketing manager for Sardinian ports, and Jamil Ouazzani, the association’s director of technical environmental solutions and director of marketing & strategic intelligence at Tangier port, led the survey.

Seatrade Cruise Global takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from April 8-11. Mangiarotti and Ouazzani will share the results on April 9 at 1 pm EST at MedCruise booth #2201.

Scope of the survey

The project was developed through a 25-question survey in which 51 Mediterranean ports took part. To ensure a balanced representation, 41% of these ports were from the Central Med, 33% form the West Med and 26% from the East Med.

The aim of the survey was to provide an overview of Mediterranean ports’ sustainability, focusing on: development of environmental monitoring programs, shore power projects, port footprint evaluation, CSR and socio-economic impacts, availability of alternative fuels.

Plus, a presentation on port cities

On April 10, MedCruise will launch the 'Cruise Port City Compass - Global Cases Inspiring Sustainable Connections & Communities' publication, compiled jointly by AIVP – the worldwide network of port cities – and MedCruise.

The presentation will be given by Noemi Frascella, responsible for international relations & communication/strategic planning & development at the Port of Taranto and MedCruise’s director of port & city relationships, along with José Sánchez, director of Agenda 2030 by AIVP and projects and content member of the AIVP management committee.

A cocktail reception will follow the presentation, which takes place from 5-6 pm EST, also at MedCruise booth #2201.
