It will sail the fjords, visiting Oslo and Bergen, with bookings now open.
An 11-day ‘Norway with Geirangerfjord & Stavanger’ itinerary runs from August 30 to September 10.
Full vaccination for crew and passengers
In keeping with Norway’s requirement that all adults on board cruise vessels are vaccinated with testing mandatory for children over the age of four, everyone on Mein Schiff 1 will need to be fully jabbed.
This means buffet self-service will be reinstated in addition to unrestricted use of the sauna. Journeys ashore individually or as part of an organised excursion arranged by TUI are permissable.
Sailings will be restricted to 2,000 passengers.
Current on board health measures
For Mein Schiff 1's sister vessels, rapid antigen testing for all passengers before arrival and ahead of departure is currently a prerequisite to sailing and it is compulsory to wear a face mask where a distance of 1.5 mtr cannot be maintained, for example, in elevators.
The vaccination rate of Mein Schiff passengers stands at over 70% and rising, according to the line.
Mein Schiff fleet operations
For all Mein Schiff cruises, passengers can participate in shore excursions arranged by TUI Cruises; in Greece, shore excursions are possible among individuals.
Mein Schiff 2 is embarking on 10-day voyages through the Western Med and Mein Schiff 4, the Italian coast with added French ports on some sailings.
Mein Schiff 5 sails Greece, with Mein Schiff 6 departing from Kiel for cruises through the Baltic Sea calling at Stockholm and Gothenburg among other ports.
Mein Schiff 3 departs to and from Bremerhaven at the end of this month.
