More turnarounds, higher occupancy levels fuel 1H passenger numbers at Roma Cruise Terminal

Between January and end June, Roma Cruise Terminal handled 1,173,292 cruise transit and turnaround passengers. This represents a 86% growth on full year 2022 numbers when 630,652 passengers were welcomed and an 11.8% increase in passenger traffic in the first half of 2019 (1,048,798).

The hike in passenger numbers came despite having the same number of ship calls for the same period last year.
 
Turnaround passengers

The largest increase was registered in turnaround passengers (around 17% compared to 2022) and 86.94% when compared to 2019. Positive results were also registered in ship provisioning volumes.  
 
Roma Cruise Terminal is owned by Costa Cruises, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean Group.
 
An equivalent performance in the second half of 2023 is predicted by Roma Cruse Terminal resulting in another record year at Italy's leading cruise port and providing economic benefit to the local community, employment, the port, the city of Civitavecchia and the wider Lazio region.
