MSC Lirica will carry out a further 28 partial turnaround calls this season at Kusadasi
MSC Lirica arrived at Ege Port Kuşadasi this morning amid celebration, being the first MSC Cruises cruise ship ever to have visited the port.

An exclusive check-in hall was created for the turnaround call at Ege Port’s Scala Nuova Village.

The ancient city of Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary were among the sites visited by some of the ship’s 846 passengers.

It follows festivities in Piraeus yesterday marking MSC Lirica's first time homeporting in Greece.

Homeport operations

‘Today marks the first partial homeport operations at our port for the season,’ said Aziz Gungor, Global Ports Holding’s regional director for the Eastearn Mediterranean and Ege Port Kusadasi’s general manager. ‘Through collaboration between Ege Port and MSC Cruises teams, we have successfully completed the boarding of new passengers and transit operations… We look forward to hosting MSC Lirica for another 28 partial turnaround calls this season.”

By the close of the season, MSC Lirica will have called at the MedCruise member port on 29 occasions as part of its Eastern Mediterranean itinerary.

Plaque exchange

Gungor and others port representatives handed the customary plaque to the master of the ship in a ceremony which took place onboard the vessel.

Also in attendance were: MSC Cruises Executive Director Angelo Capurro; MSC Cruises Country Manager for Turkey Burak Çalışkan; Kusadasi District Governor Saadettin Yucel; Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Umut Tuncer; Selcuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel; Kuşadası Harbor Manager Onder Eyigun.
