This is to 'make necessary guest experience enhancements and support the island’s future growth plans,' the company said.

April 7-May 22

MSC's private Bahamian island won't be taking ships from April 7 to May 22, 2024. Passengers and travel advisors are being notified with options.

Alternative ports

'In the main, alternative ports in the Caribbean will be offered to our guests while Ocean Cay is temporarily closed and for customers booked for some of MSC Meraviglia’s sailings from New York, they will get to experience new destinations in New England and Canada,' an MSC spokesman told Seatrade Cruise News.

Ocean Cay Marine Reserve was just declared a ‘Hope Spot’ by nonprofit Mission Blue in recognition of its conservation efforts. Hope Spots are recognized as critical to the ocean's health and championed by conservationists, with the ultimate goal of their achieving Marine Protected Area status.
