Nassau Cruise Port posted a second consecutive year of record growth with 5.6m passengers in 2024, topping the 4.49m in 2023.

As the largest and busiest transit cruise port in the region, Nassau also serves as a cornerstone of The Bahamas' tourism sector. Of the approximately 9.1m visitors in 2024, 61% — 5.6m — arrived by ship.

Economic impact

This contributes directly to approximately $2.6b in annual tourism revenues for The Bahamas, creating jobs and a ripple effect through the economy.

'We are incredibly proud to reach this significant milestone for the second year in a row,' said Mike Maura Jr., CEO of Nassau Cruise Port. 'This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and collaboration of our talented team, our valued partners and the Bahamian people.'

He also acknowledged the support of stakeholders including the government, cruise line partners, local businesses and the community at large.

Further improvements to come

Nassau Cruise Port plans further expansion and improvement, including enhanced ground transportation, family-oriented recreational experiences and dining options with a focus on the downtown area.
