Port of Southampton is expanding its cruise team as it prepares for the return of cruise ship operations when the time is right, says Rebekah Keeler in her new role of head of cruise.

Keeler who has held the title of Commercial Manager at the port since May 2016 has been setting out Southampton’s cruise strategy and the ability to align the evolving demands of cruise partners with the strategic investment and capabilities of the port and wider communications.

Cruise services delivery

‘The existing cruise team is being further developed to ensure the best possible support for cruise partners and I will be supported by Thea George as we focus solely on delivering our cruise services,’ added Keeler who joined ABP in 2011 as a management trainee.

The number of cruise ships calling at Southampton grew from 250 to 500 between 2009-2019.

‘Despite the current challenges Covid19 poses, we remain confident that cruise has a very strong future and we are looking forward to welcoming passengers back to the Port of Southampton, when it is safe to do so,’ said Keeler.

Keeler was a finalist in the Seatrade Cruise News 20 under 40 Awards in 2018.
