Oceania Cruises unveils 2023 world cruise with 96 ports

Insignia will sail round-trip San Francisco, with options to extend the voyage up to 218 days
Oceania Cruises' 180-day world voyage in 2023 has 96 ports, up from the 91 in 2022, in 33 countries, compared to 44 next year.

Bookings for the general public open Jan. 27.

Insignia will sail round-trip San Francisco, departing on Jan. 15, 2023.

20 multi-day port calls and three days in Antarctica

There will be multi-day stays in 20 ports, from South America to Africa to Asia and Alaska, as well as three full days cruising in Antarctica.

The itinerary provides access to more than 60 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and travelers sailing the full world voyage will be invited to take part in five included shoreside events.

Five lavish shoreside events

These are an Argentine cultural exposition in Buenos Aires with an equestrian show and tango lessons, fine food and wine, capped by a grand display of music and dance. An afternoon at the renowned Boschendal Winery in Cape Town with an elaborate farmer’s market will feature exquisite cuisine, Boschendal’s wines and live music.

An evening at Al Maha Desert Dune in the Arabian Desert outside of Dubai offers 'the ultimate Bedouin experience' with tribal music and dance, falconry and dinner under the stars catered by the famed Al Maha Luxury Resort and Spa.

A Burmese monk donation ceremony in Yangon, Myanmar, witnesses a sacred ritual in support of more than 200 monks. Following the ceremony is an elaborate spread of canapes and refreshments accompanied by traditional music and dance.

A candlelit evening at Vung Duc Cave in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay outside of Hanoi starts with a dragon dance followed by an ethereal candlelit dinner show featuring local entertainers and music. A feast of local delicacies will be accompanied by wine pairings.

Choice of free excursions, beverages or on-board credit

World cruisers may choose from 64 free shore excursions, a beverage package or a $6,400 shipboard credit — all available on a per stateroom basis.

In addition, everyone gets Oceania's Exclusive Prestige Package including first-class round-trip airfare from more than two dozen North American gateways, pre-paid gratuities (a value up to $8,200), free on-board medical care, unlimited Internet, laundry service, visa package and luggage delivery for travelers from the US and Canada. Also included: a one-night pre-cruise luxury hotel stay in the port of embarkation and round-trip transfers within 50 miles from the cruise departure port.

Fares start at $41,599 per person.

Options to sail longer

Options to extend the cruise include continuing on to New York (200 days), or departing from Miami on Dec. 28 and disembarking in San Francisco (198 days) or sailing round-trip Miami (214 days) or from Miami to New York (218 days).
