During the ten day event Rouen, the capital of Normandy, will also welcome 42 river cruise calls by 22 ships.

The event celebrates the rich history of seafaring and embraces the importance of preservation, including the Seine.

Exploring the old sailing ships

Visitors are allowed to freely explore the Amada sailboats moored along the banks of the Seine in the heart of the city and attend free concerts, firework displays and other festivities.

In total the city of  Rouen anticipates the arrival of between 4 to 6 million visitors across the ten days.

'Beyond its cultural and economic significance, the Armada also emphasizes the importance of environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The festival promotes eco-friendly initiatives, encouraging participants and attendees to take responsible actions toward protecting the marine environment as well as the festival itself,' notes Jaco Seyffert, ocean and river cruises promotion at Rouen Tourisme.
