The figures include 4,234,545 passenger moves on multi-day cruises, a 7.1% increase, as well as one-day cruise passengers. The total count was 4,520,229.

This makes Canaveral the world's second busiest cruise port, after Miami.

The port's fiscal year was Oct. 1, 2016, through Sept. 30, 2017.

'Port Canaveral is proving to be the port of choice for more cruise travelers year after year,' said Capt. John Murray, CEO. 'Our focus on providing quality service and commitments we have made to improve and expand our infrastructure ensures our cruise partners can deliver an exceptional customer experience at our port, which provides increased jobs and business opportunities in our community.'

Carnival Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International all homeport ships at Canaveral, while other lines make transit calls.
