Port of Dover welcomes the return of Celebrity Silhouette

Celebrity Silhouette returned to Dover on Monday with the White Cliffs providing an iconic backdrop as the Celebrity Cruises' ship steered into port alongside Cruise Terminal 2 with the assistance of the port’s pilots.

The 319mtr ship stayed in port overnight before sailing for Amsterdam on a 12-night Baltic Capital Cities cruise calling Copenhagen, Warnemunde,Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, and Stockholm.

Dover is expecting around 200,000 cruise passengers this year.

Barbara Buczek, director of corporate development, Port of Dover, said: 'It is a delight to once again welcome back to Dover the biggest ship in Celebrity Cruises' fleet of ten.'

The port is currently undertaking ithe Dover Western Docks Revival project which includes improving cruise handling facilities and services.
