According to the Galveston Daily News, Port Director/CEO Rodger Rees said: 'From a practical standpoint, all the issues have been resolved on both sides.'

Keeping city officials apprised

However, the board plans to meet with city officials to keep them apprised on negotiations with the company that's likely to be a tenant of the port's fourth cruise terminal.

On Tuesday, the Galveston Wharves board got an update on design planning for Cruise Terminal 16.

Earlier this month, MSC Cruises opened bookings for its first deployment from Galveston to start in November 2025 with MSC Seascape. At the time, the cruise line told Seatrade Cruise News it 'remains pleased with the ongoing negotiations surrounding the Port of Galveston’s future Terminal 16.'
