Port Tampa Bay reopens with restrictions, cruise delays

Following Hurricane Helene, Port Tampa Bay resumed vessel operations Saturday afternoon with a 28-foot depth restriction. Five cruise ship schedules have been impacted.

Carnival Paradise was delayed until Sunday, along with, as earlier advised, Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas. Both ships had been scheduled back last Thursday.

Margaritaville at Sea Islander's Sunday turnaround was delayed until Monday, and the next cruise will depart Monday with an adjusted schedule: Tuesday at Sea, Wednesday at Cozumel, Thursday at Sea and back to Tampa Oct. 4.

Grandeur and Enchantment of the Seas

The schedules for Saturday's turnarounds of Grandeur of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas were also impacted.

Port Tampa Bay officials expressed the hope that the shipping channels will be functional at their full depths shortly.
