The Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne) that is owned by the Victorian government and manages the cruise facilities at Station Pier, is one of three new members of Ports Australia.

The VPCM has joined as a full member.

CEO Mike Gallacher also welcomed two associate members — the Papua New Guinea Ports Corporation and Aurecon, an international engineering, design and consultation company with extensive experience in port infrastructure.

International associates

Gallacher said the PNG Ports Corporation joins a growing list of international associate members from across the South Pacific region.

It owns and operates 15 of the 22 declared ports in the country and provides berthing, wharfage, pilotage and harbour management services.

Peak body

Ports Australia is the peak industry body representing port authorities, both publicly and privately owned.
