Ports of Yokohama and Barcelona sign MOU to further strengthen partnership

The mayor of the city of Yokohama, Fumiko Hayashi and president of Port of Barcelona Merce Conesa Pages signed an MoU this week for strengthening the partnership between the two ports.

The MoU aims to enhance promotional activities specifically in the cruise, containers and vehicle handling sectors, to exchange knowledge about effective terminal operations and creating a harmonized port and destination, driven by Barcelona’s success as a leading cruise hub port. Earlier this month Yokohama opened a new cruise terminal.

The MOU also covers sharing of sustainable environmental initiatives, technical information exchanges, new business opportunities and promoting trade between both countries.
