Impact of the pandemic
Following 18 months of operations being at a standstill, cruise calls picked up in the third quarter of 2021 reaching 20 calls carrying 42,000 passengers across Normandy’s ports.
Investment
An investment plan has been outlined amounting to €58m in 2022, €58.5m in 2023 and over €25 in 2024. Reaching almost €142m over three years, it surpasses Ports of Normandy’s annual average funding from €31.5m to €47.3m.
Some of the funding, which supports a broad list of ambitions, is intended to keep improving the passenger experience in Normandy through better services and facilities for cross-Channel and cruise operators.
Infrastructure developments
Work will also be carried out at Cherbourg’s dry docking facility to bring it into line with environmental standards and improve services and safety.
