Riviera Travel launches 2024 itineraries

Riviera Travels unveiled its European river cruise programme for 2024, with 13 itineraries available to book from tomorrow.

301 departures will be on sale, from March to November, including seven dedicated to solo passengers. Destinations include France, Germany, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and the Netherlands.

There are savings of 10% on middle or upper deck cabins on all 2024 river cruises when booked by February 28, 2023.

Included in the sailings

Prices include return flights with regional airport options available at no additional cost, Eurostar travel on select itineraries, full board, and scheduled visits and tours. Excursions are available every day, while sailings also include on board lectures, port talks, entertainment and authentic regional menus.

An optional on board drinks package is additionally available to purchase, which offers a selection of drinks during lunch and dinner. The package starts from £79pp for a five-day sailing. 

Itinerary highlights

Passengers can visit Amsterdam, Kinderdijk and the Dutch Bulbfields as part of a five-day cruise that offers five tours, such as the Keukenhof Gardens, Enkhuizen, Kinderdijk and Rotterdam, and a canal cruise in Amsterdam. Prices are from £999pp.

Starting at £1399pp, passengers can sail the Danube for eight days and participate in guided tours of Vienna, Salzburg or Linz, Dürnstein, Budapest and Bratislava. Visits to Esztergom Basilica and Melk Abbey are also possible as part of the itinerary which has seven tours. Alternatively, passengers can select a Douro, Porto and Salamanca itinerary of the same duration that has eight tours, including a lunch and a flamenco show in Salamanca, dinner at a typical Portuguese quinta and visits to Castelo Rodrigo, Mateus Palace gardens and Lamego. Prices start at £1699pp.

For Lyon, Provençal Rhône and the Camargue, passengers can take an 11-day cruise with seven guided tours, including Cluny Abbey, Beaune, Lyon, Avignon, Uzès, Arles and Orange. They can also visit the Camargue with the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the Pont du Gard and the Ardèche Gorges. Newly introduced for 2023, prices start at £2699pp.

A 15-day voyage in the heart of Europe comes with 15 tours spanning Budapest, Vienna, Nuremberg, Bamberg, Bratislava, Koblenz, Boppard, Rüdesheim, Mainz, Miltenberg, Wertheim, Regensburg, Passau and Würzburg; plus a visit to the Benedictine monastery, Melk Abbey. Prices start at £2799pp.

All itineraries are similarly sailing in 2023 and already available to book.
