A tender for the construction of the approximately €7m Donato Bramante Terminal, replacing the existing Terminal Bramante on Quay 12 south, is now launched with July 15, set as the deadline for submissions.

Opening summer 2025

Work is expected to start during the second half of this year and the cruise terminal will receive its first passengers summer 2025.

The terminal, covering an area of 3,500sq mtr, will handle turnarounds averaging 4,000 passengers. Some 1,790sq mtr of the total space will be allocated to a luggage hall and there will be 20 to 40 check-in desks.

In 2026, during its first full year of operation, more than 800,000 passengers are expected to pass through Terminal Donato Bramante.

Photovoltaic roof panels

Built to green standards, the terminal will have approximately 1,600sq mtr of photovoltaic panels on its roof.

Between January and May this year, Roma Cruise Terminal handled 221 ship calls and 857,688 passengers, of which 495,565 (57%) were in transit and 362,123 (43%) turnaround, 21% more than the same period last year.

In 2023, Civitavecchia welcomed over 3m cruise passengers, a record year for the Italian and Mediterranean hub.

Roma Cruise Terminal, whose shareholders are Costa Crociere, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruises, is the cruise terminal concessionaire in the port of Civitavecchia.
