Overnights in Rouen

Rouen offers a combination of history, art, gastronomy, nature, industry, and proximity to France’s most sought-after destinations, making it a standout location for overnight stays on Atlantic coast itineraries.

Passengers have ample time to explore the medieval streets of Rouen, known for its architectural heritage, half-timbered houses, and the iconic Rouen Cathedral, but also the chance to embark on excursions to Paris and Versailles, 90 minutes away, and Giverny, home to the house and gardens of Claude Monet.

In addition to its rich history and culture, Rouen was awarded a Gastronomical City by UNESCO offering authentic Norman cuisine.

2025 cruise ship roster

In 2025, Rouen is expecting 16 ocean cruise calls starting in April and finishing in December. Fred Olsen’s Balmoral is the most regular visitor next season calling five times. Others include Silver Dawn, Silver Shadow and Silver Spirit, Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey, Deutschland, Asuka II and Star Legend, according to Jaco Seyffert, ocean and river cruises promotion, Rouen Cruises, at Rouen Tourisme.
