The line is also introducing new itineraries with four ports of call and others that showcase twice the glaciers. The season will be longer, too.

Quantum-class pair from Seattle

Ovation of the Seas, the first of the Quantum class to sail Alaska starting in 2021 (after its planned 2020 season was canceled), will be joined by sister Quantum of the Seas for seven-night round-trips from Seattle. Destinations include Victoria, BC; Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau. Passengers will get to see gigantic glaciers like the 30-mile-long Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, perhaps best viewed from both ships' North Star glass observation capsule that rises 300 feet above sea level.

Radiance-class views

With their ocean-facing glass elevators and floor-to-ceiling windows, Radiance of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas will return with a fresh take on Royal Caribbean's seven-night itineraries anchored by visits to Haines, Sitka, Ketchikan, Juneau and Seward.

Icy Strait Point and Haines

Sailing alternating, open-jaw cruises between Vancouver and Seward, Radiance will introduce a second northbound itinerary that includes a visit to Icy Strait Point. Southbound sailings will introduce an evening call at Haines, a scenic Inside Passage town that's home to a thriving arts community. Paired with a day spent at Skagway, this takes advantage of the long, summer daylight hours.

Sister ship Serenade, sailing round-trip from Vancouver, will also call at Haines, with a full-day visit. The itinerary features both Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier plus Hubbard Glacier, North America's largest tidewater glacier.

Cruise-tours

Travelers on Serenade can extend their stay with a two- to six-night pre- or post-cruise land tour led by local experts. Among the choices are a Katmai Bear Trek or learning about 'The Last Great Race' and the team of sled dogs on the Family Tundra Express experience. Five- to six-night Canada cruise-tour options visit Banff, Calgary and beyond.
