Scenic Eclipse arrived in Gibraltar for the first time ever on April 20 in the afternoon, carrying 156 passengers and 166 crew members.

Gibraltar Minister for Business, Tourism, Transport and the Port Vijay Daryanani participated in the traditional plaque exchange with ship capain Ewarn at Gibraltar Cruise Terminal. The minister said, ‘It is great to have Scenic Eclipse visiting our port for the first time.

‘This is our third inaugural call this month. I am delighted to see the quick recovery we are making with cruise calls, it demonstrates the popularity of the destination and the results of the work that is being done by the government to get this sector back on track.’

Developing the cruise industry

Daryanani went on to add, ‘I will keep on working energetically to grow cruising as I know how important it is to our economy.’

The Scenic ship, which has capacity for 228 passengers, departed on the evening of the same day it arrived.
