MSC Orchestra will inaugurate Durban’s new KwaZulu Natal terminal when it begins homeporting there from Dec. 6 for the austral summer 2021/22 season.

The MSC Cruises vessel will offer a total of 41 voyages around South Africa and Mozambique up to May 11, 2022, with citizens and residents of South Africa able to embark in Cape Town.

The line still awaits details from South African authorities on specific health and safety guidelines.

MSC Orchestra, which recently underwent a major drydock refurbishment, replaces MSC Musica that was originally earmarked for South Africa this coming season.

The announcement follows reports earlier this month of MSC Cruises operating vessels there and in South America
