Pending the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's authorization of a conditional sailing certificate for each ship, passenger cruises are expected to start July 19 with Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas.
As of June 22, all cruise lines calling Seattle have submitted their application to CDC for a simulated voyage or, if the crew/passengers will be at least 95% vaccinated against COVID-19, a conditional sailing certificate.
'The safety of our communities, passengers and crew has been our foremost priority since the pandemic began,' Port of Seattle Executive Director Steve Metruck said. 'Since last year, we have been working with health authorities at all levels, along with cruise stakeholders and staff, to ensure that our facilities are safe for public use.'
