Skagen anticipates record-breaking cruise season ahead

During the 2022 cruise season Skagen will start using its new, extra cruise pier that allows cruise vessels up to 300mtr to dock.
Skagen expects to receive 65 calls from cruise ships this season, resulting in the arrival of up to 156,000 passengers – a record for the port.

Up until October last year, Skagen had expected to receive 40 cruise calls in 2022, however on February 24 the port surpassed the number of cruise ship bookings seen in 2019, when it recorded 43 expected cruise calls and the subsequent arrival of up to 66,000 passengers.

16 maiden port calls

Ambassador Cruise Line, Costa Crociere, MSC Cruises, Scylla and AIDA Cruises are among the cruise lines new to Skagen. The Danish port will also receive 16 maiden port calls.

New cruise pier

During the 2022 cruise season, the port will begin using in its new cruise pier. Completed in March 2021, it allows cruise vessels with a length overall of up to 300mtr to dock.

Port of Skagen will attend Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami from April 26-28 at the Ports of Denmark booth, no. 1623.
