Mediterranean inaugural season

Eithne Williamson, VP Princess Cruises UK and Europe commented, ‘Sun Princess joined the Princess fleet earlier this year and her visit to Southampton marks the completion of her inaugural Mediterranean season.’

Shore power commission

Tom Dynes, general manager of landside operations, ABP Southampton, said: ‘During her stay, we are pleased to commission Sun Princess for shore power, which means testing her onboard systems to ensure she can plug in and achieve zero emissions whilst in port. The Port of Southampton is proud to be the first port in the UK to offer shore power and the capability to commission new cruise ships.

Sun Princess is the first ship in the Princess fleet to be powered by LNG.

Caribbean winter season

Sun Princess is now headed for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to start her inaugural Caribbean season.
