Strong Japan focus in Holland America's 2025/26 Asia cruises

Holland America Line's Westerdam is heading to Asia from September 2025 through April 2026, where it will explore 11 countries, with a strong focus on Japan.

Some 24 Japanese ports are in the schedule, out of 51 in total, with destinations in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Port-intensive cruises

Cruises depart from Hong Kong, Yokohama and Singapore with up to 12 ports in a single itinerary. The schedule gives access to more than 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Overnight calls include Shanghai, Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Manilla, Hiroshima and Incheon (Seoul), while late-night departures on select itineraries include Hakodate, Osaka, Kobe, Halong Bay, Da Nang, Lembar and Sihanoukville.

The program is bookended with a 13-day repositioning cruise from Seattle to Yokohama embarking Sept. 28, 2025, including calls at Juneau, and Kushiro and Aomori, Japan, and a 15-day Yokohama to Seattle cruise on April 26, 2026 with calls at Kushiro and Alaska's Kodiak, Sitka, Ketchikan and Victoria, BC.

Circle Japan

Other itineraries include 'Circle Japan,' a 14- or 15-day round-trip from Yokohama. Three departures are offered. One has Japanese ports including Omaezaki, Kobe, Kochi, Fukuoka, Kanazawa, Sakata, Otaru, Aomori, Hakodate and Miyako, plus Sokcho, South Korea.

Another calls Himeji, Kochi, Hiroshima, Sakaiminato, Tsuruga, Toyama, Sakata, Otaru and Hakodate, all in Japan, as well as Pusan, South Korea.

And the third visits Omaezaki, Kobe, Kochi, Fukuoka, Kanazawa, Sakata, Otaru, Aomori and Hakodate in Japan, as well as Sokcho, South Korea.

The wider region

Further itineraries include 'Japan and South Korea Discovery,' 14 days round-trip Yokohama; 'Japan, South Korea and China,' 13 or 14 days, from Yokohama to Hong Kong and 'The Philippines, Taiwan and Japan,' 14 days, Hong Kong to Yokohama.

'Far East Discovery,' 13 or 14 days, travels between Hong Kong and Singapore, while the 15-day 'Indonesian Holiday' sails round-trip Singapore with all calls in Indonesia. 'Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines,' 14 days, sails from Singapore to Hong Kong.

Back-to-back cruises, which Holland America calls a Collectors' Voyage, are available up to 29 days at value pricing.

Fares start at $1,999 per person, double occupancy. Taxes, fees and port expenses are additional.
