This marks the Connecticut-based tour operator's latest expansion into close-to-home cruising and furthers its partnership with Silversea. The new 13-day 'Shores of Eastern Canada and New England' itinerary is offered in three northbound trips from New York and three southbound trips from Québec, all in September and October next year.

Follows high demand for Alaska and Great Lakes cruises

This follows the 2019 introduction of Tauck’s 'Cruising the Great Lakes: Chicago to Toronto' itinerary. Elsewhere in the US, Tauck has also featured a cruise of Alaska’s Inside Passage and a 15-day 'Grand Alaska' cruise and land tour for many years.

'We’ve seen tremendous interest in our Alaska and Great Lakes programs — we essentially sold out across the board this year — and we’re excited to expand our domestic cruise offerings for next year with this wonderful new journey,' Tauck CEO Dan Mahar said.

Bookended by included hotel stays, tours

The program begins with an included overnight stay at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, followed by a day of guided sightseeing in Manhattan. Passengers embark Silver Shadow that afternoon for a 10-night cruise to Québec City, highlighted by calls at Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island) and Saguenay (Québec).

At Québec City, travelers will explore on a sightseeing excursion before touring the pastoral Ile d’Orleans and visiting Montmorency Falls. The journey concludes with a farewell reception, dinner and overnight at the iconic Chateau Frontenac.

Although Tauck customers will be aboard Silver Shadow with non-Tauck passengers, Mahar said they'll get extras like the included hotel stays and sightseeing in Manhattan and Québec City along with all shore excursions, while Silversea includes only a selection of tours. Also, Tauck travelers will be taking excursions designed and operated by Tauck and led by its local guides in tandem with Tauck director guides who accompany the full trip.

The 'Shores of Eastern Canada and New England' itinerary is priced starting at $8,990 per person, double occupancy, including gratuities, airport transfers, luggage handling, port charges, taxes and more.

30 years at sea, growing Silversea partnership

2023 will mark Tauck’s 30th anniversary offering small ship ocean cruises, and next year the company will operate more than 100 departures of 18 cruise itineraries exploring North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Antarctica and the Arabian Peninsula on a fleet of 16 ships.

Tauck already offers other cruises aboard select Silversea vessels, including Silver Origin in the Galápagos and Silver Muse.

Ponant remains primary maritime partner

Ponant remains Tauck’s primary maritime partner with nine Ponant ships featured on itineraries around the world.
