‘This is a brilliant opportunity to promote Tenerife as a destination for cruises...even if they only spend a few hours here,’ remarked David Pérez, CEO, Tenerife Tourism Corporation.

His comments were followed by Andy Harmer, MD, CLIA UK & Ireland who said, ‘The island is a firm favourite with cruisers… We look forward to supporting Tenerife’s tourism representatives, as they further build their relationship with the travel trade and gear up for the return of cruise visitors.’

A new strategy

The membership is part of Tenerife’s new marketing strategy to enhance awareness of its attractions and activites across the region.

It follows the island’s recent biosphere certification from the Responsible Tourism Institute’s (RTI) recognising it as a sustainable destination.
