Variety to host LGBTQ+ cruise in the Seychelles
Variety Cruises’ Pegasus will operate a dedicated LGBTQ+ cruise this autumn sailing round trip from Mahé island.
Departing October 28, the 148ft, 44-passenger ship will bring passengers to destinations where they may encounter rich underwater life, jungles and flora and fauna as part of the eight-day Limited Collection itinerary.
The programme will also include enhanced guest experiences highlighting local farm-to-table dining, soft adventure tours, an Off-Broadway-at-Sea night and other signature activities led by a guest host.
Constantine Venetopoulos
Variety’s director of communications & PR Constantine Venetopoulos, part of the third generation of the Greek, family-owned cruise line, will join the sailing. He helms the Gender Equality pillar of the Variety Cares foundation, has been a volunteer counselor since 2011 for The Trevor Project whose mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people, and is the director of the film Draw With Me which was the first documentary on transgender history to be presented at the United Nations during the 50th anniversary of the Stone Wall riots.
Supporting LGBTQ+
Variety has a long-standing history of gender-inclusive staff training, in partnership with organisations such as the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) and The Trevor Project.
Additionally, Variety recently established a partnership with Hellinides, an organisation supporting women in business via training, professional development and networking.
